This Compact PMP Makes You Go Yahee!!!!

Random Chinese manufacturers seem best known for knocking off the designs of popular devices. There's no shortage of MP3 players that look a little too much like the iPod, but this seems to be the first time that a knockoff PMP has taken on the appearance of a Nokia XpressMusic cell phone.

Looking a little too much like the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic, this device has been dubbed the Yahee YHM-MPE02 personal media player. That's Yahee, folks, not Yahoo! To access all of the key functions, you simply press the buttons flanking the 2-inch QVGA color display on either side, much like the Nokia cell phone.

If you must know, the Yahee YHM-MPE02 comes equipped with 4GB of internal memory, FM tuner, built-in speakers, microSD expansion, and support for everything from WAV, ASF and MP3 to JPEG, AVI, and TXT.

Google Phone Hardware Could Be a Dream Come True

We learned earlier today of the Google Open Handset Platform that will be altered and implemented by a variey of phone makers. The Google operating system will underpin a variety of devices created by guys like HTC and Motorola, but what about actual hardware? Well, there's still word floating about that Google is interested in making more than cell phone software and a "Dream" cell phone could still be on the way.

Codenamed "Dream", the internal mobile phone design from Google has yet to be leaked into the public, but there are several details that have emerged from recent reports. Based on this insider information, the real Google Phone "Dream" has an overall form factor that is not unlike the Apple iPhone. It's going to be 5-inches long, 3-inches wide, and feature some sort of touch-sensitive control. There's also mention of a hidden QWERTY keyboard as well as some sort of swiveling mechanism.

Naturally, the software inside is mostly Google too, complete with YouTube, email, text editing, and a virtual machine for web browsing in landscape mode. The physical design of this "real" Google Phone is reportedly still be developed by HTC and it could be ready around the same time as the other Google Phones: the second half of 2008.

Top Ten iPhone Secrets You May Want To Know

The following list of ten hints may or may not be in the iPhone user manual, but these juicy shortcuts and hidden features will make your Apple iPhone experience that much sweeter. Oh, and I guess they'll make you more efficient too, but that's secondary.

1.If you click the button on the handsfree kit, you can pause your iPod-fueled music. Click it again to restart your tunes or double-click to skip tracks.

2.Double tap the space bar to get a full stop followed by a space. Drag your finger from the 123 button to the punctuation you need and it'll enter it, bringing you back to QWERTY right away.

3.The iPhone will automatically ask if you want airplane mode if it senses you are near speakers. This way, you avoid that annoying noise.

4.Do a quick zoom in and out on your photos with a quick double tap.

5.Text is entered when you take your finger off the screen, not when you press it.

6.Firmware 1.1.2 instantly sends you to your contacts when you double-tap teh home button at the bottom.

7.You can edit the five quick access buttons available from the iPod controls. Go to More then Edit to make your changes.

8.You can undelete Visual Voicemail.

9.A cheap adapter will cure the lack of a standard 3.5mm audio jack.

10.A "ruggedized rubber monstrosity of a case" will prevent theft and minimize damage.

Fritz Mini does wireless phone, music, internet

Everything in technology these days is about doing as much as you can on a single unit, throwing pretty well every function into something that is wireless, has a color screen, and a seamless operation. FRITZ! Mini seems to fulfill all of those requirements, because on a single little gadget, you'll find the ability to take calls, listen to music, look up info, check email and more.

The high resolution color display is great for checking up on current news and weather, and you can be sure that connectivity won't be an issue, because the FRITZ! Mini will do 802.11g WLAN, as well as USB 2.0.

Phone calls can be made both through traditional fixed-lines, as well as through the internet (VoIP). Music can be heard through Internet radio, podcasts, and even regular old music files – pretty well anything you can stream over the internet or from the PC. You'll even receive notification of when you get an email or text message in your FRITZ! Box. Online viewing of current news, weather and other content can also be had on the color display.

The FRITZ! Mini by AVM should be available in the third quarter of this year at a yet to be determined price.

Let's Play! Hercules Mobile DJ Mp3 Gadget Spins It Roughly, Makes Pete Tong Jealous!

Ladies, gentlemen, music addicts, meet my new friend, the mobile DJ mp3 gadget! It enables you to mix the integrated tracks selected from your own personal PC. This thing is 100 % wireless, which means you can both mix and do your daily routine, simultaneously.

Apparently, this fellow only requires a simple sync with your music PC content, demanding, of course, the supplied software.

And hey, it's cool to use the World's first wireless Mp3 DJ mixing mini-controller ever made. The best thing with this device, besides the possibility to put together the tracks from your PC, is the integrated dual mixing deck you can mix, fade and loop to get the perfect club mood in your own living room.

According to the Hercules mobile Dj Mp3 manufactures, it provides all the power of a vinyl DJ, meaning both cross faders and playback speed controls. And I have to tell you the Virtual DJ software sounds too good to be true. It even allows you to sync cool tracks and mix the tunes your way.

Another great thing with this device is the lack of any kind of wires, which could seriously get in the way of your perfect mix. Besides a striking milky white design, complimented with fine minimalist patterns, the item reveals a built-in LCD screen. It was ingeniously integrated in the system to offer you a precise track monitoring and a way to identify your own mix with minimal effort than ever before.

Giving the details in the device's specification list I have to admit the price tag seems to be a fair one, as you won't find a professional MP3 DJ mixing mini-controller at only 70 pounds!

After all, you don't have to be Pete Tong to spin it like crazy! So, what do you think about my new Hercules friend? Thought so!

MP3 gadget set for legalisation

Gadgets which transmit MP3 players' output so they can be heard on FM radios may become legal in the UK.

Communications regulator Ofcom is holding a public consultation over the issue until September.

Using iTrips and other "low-power FM transmitters" is banned in Europe as their low-power transmissions can, in theory, interfere with legal stations.

The devices and other similar MP3 player accessories are popular abroad and widely available online.

The Wireless Telegraphy Act of 1949 forbids the use of radio equipment without a licence or an exemption.

But the gadgets are now expected to become legal to use - without a licence - by 2007.

Liberal Democrat culture, media and sport spokesman Don Foster said: "I am delighted Ofcom have ended this ludicrous ban, based on 1940s legislation... which threatened two years imprisonment to music lovers using iTrips.

"This decision... will not only regulate a booming black market and provide the country with valuable tax revenue, but also enable the iPod generation to enjoy their music using the latest gadgets."

Gadget magazine T3 deputy editor Jason Jenkins also welcomed the proposed legalisation.

"They are nifty little things and an easy way to listen to your iPod tunes in your car," he said.
